Common Mormon has 8 artists studios, a residency/project space, and Blacklands ceramic studio. The building will be open to visitors over the two weekends of Coastal Currents, with works for sale from studio artists and ceramic members.
If you are between the ages of 18 and 25 register for a place at two special Open Mic Nights to showcase your talent and
win a prize. Come along and watch, support and even spot talent for your next event!
We are looking for nominations for 4 young people (under 30) who have gone above and beyond for culture locally.
We want you to nominate and give us a short reason why.

WE COVER ALL THE COSTS TO CREATE A LIVE ONE TAKE VIDEO AND EVEN PROMOTE IT.
An agreement to work with Audiotrope to be able to sustain decent wages and treatment of musicians. The purpose of this is to ensure we can support our music economy locally, whilst also providing a joined-up network of venues that can help build greater footfall for all.

Since 2019, Oli has drawn the same thing every day: A bar of soap on a soap dish. Over the last 1500-ish days, he has recorded the minute day to day changes as the soaps have got smaller until all gone. Then he begins with a different soap, on a different soap dish and so on.
A bit like Baruchello meets Alfred Wallis – paintings, sculpture and digital installation.

From our studio base in Hastings and in off-site projects, we facilitate personalised creative pathways for artists and makers.

I make colourful ceramics, both thrown domestic ware and larger hand built vessels. I welcome commissions for the satisfaction of making something for a specific person or place. Previously: sleeping mermaids, a garden totem for a
jazz loving globe trotter and other celebration and commemorative ceramics.

there, gaining an MA in Design. However, with time, her focus shifted to visual art and illustration. She moved to Hastings in 2016, and lives in the Old Town with her partner David and their 3 cats.

MSL wants your stories of the coast!
We are lead regional partner and creative agency for Beach of Dreams activity along the 30 mile stretch of our coast in the national arts festival, led nationally by Kinetika, taking place in May 2025.

New artist Kathy Foley is primarily an abstract painter who also crosses over into different disciplines and mediums using her distinctive and colourful artistic voice within her expressionistic style.
COLLAPSE is a sideways glance at a postcollapse world that might only be a few steps away. This exhibition emerges as
a poignant testament to a natural world under pressure and a deteriorating material world.
Taking inspiration from John Logie Baird’s experiments in Hastings which led to the invention of television, young people have worked with sound artist Isobel Anderson, animator Isabel Garrett and the team at OBX to create a striking video installation about future innovations they’d like to see.
The Beacon is a family home and business hidden on the West Hill, with an eatery and a licensed bar, large, secluded gardens, and a sizeable allotment (fondly known as the Wilderness)… all just a short walk from Hastings Old Town.
Commoning the Programme One is developed with young people from Hastings, who have commissioned a new work by a local artist for this festival. The work is about the future of Hastings, 2024 – 2124 and what it means to be alive, past, future present. The young programmers have been guided by prominent local organisations including Project Art Works and Trans Pride Hastings.
