Innovative new work by Hastings-based ceramicist/sculptor Jane Sarre. Smaller scale work has been exhibited locally and nationally, with past clients including Jamie Oliver and Thomas Heatherwick Studios.
Inspired by experiences of walking and being with the shingle landscapes of Rye Harbour and Dungeness, unpicking the stories and dynamics of those places, the work draws on the decayed demarcation lines of post-functional landscape features.
The pieces trace the marks of historic boundaries but also speak of open-ness and border-crossing. Inviting curiosity and movement they offer space for new interpretations of old stories.
