Coastal Currents

29 August – 14 September 2014
[Open Studios: 6/7 and 13/14 September]

We’re delighted to announce that Creative Coast and Home Live Art will be continuing their very successful collaboration again to manage Coastal Currents 2014.

We are also proud to announce that we have been granted our largest award so far from the Arts Council England, demonstrating their continued support in the success of this widely regarded festival.

This year we have yet another incredible series of performances and live events, in addition to the usual mix of exhibitions, open studios and events.

FREE and accessible to all, we ensure that the festival and programme is as interactive and engaging as possible; taking place in public spaces around Hastings and St Leonards and bringing in thousands of visitors and tourists alike.

Locally-based and artist-run company Creative Coast has managed Coastal Currents since 2009, successfully developing a broad-based festival that has provided a platform for dynamic and exciting visual art, film and performance. Each year the curated programme has taken a difference focus, encompassing performance, events, exhibitions and site specific works. In 2013 the team successfully expanded with the chance to work collaboratively with Home Live Art and this great partnership is set to continue in 2014.

Home Live Art is an established and experienced company of creative producers- living on the South Coast- which has been active since 1999. From their roots presenting radical small scale, “salon” events in a South London family house to large-scale, site-specific work, they have wide expertise in commissioning complex and inter-disciplinary programmes of work, which are distinct and groundbreaking. Playing with the traditional, communal and the celebratory, home produces and curates a programme of artist led, participatory work.

Submissions for 2014 are now closed.
